The challenge

The real problem was broader than one slow report. Data arrived from different operational sources, management needed reliable Power BI views, teams needed reusable datasets, and detailed Excel outputs still had to preserve strict business formats.

The platform therefore had to cover ingestion, transformation, semantic modelling, dashboards, Fabric orchestration and high-volume operational delivery without splitting the source of truth.

What we built

We designed the work as an end-to-end data platform: sources enter through controlled pipelines, business logic is modelled once, insight is delivered through Power BI, and detailed operational outputs remain reliable at production scale.

  • Power BI dashboards for management and operational decision-making
  • Semantic models and DAX measures built around business definitions
  • Microsoft Fabric pipelines, dataflows and reusable dataset delivery
  • Data ingestion and transformation across APIs, databases and files
  • PostgreSQL-backed operational data and large-volume processing
  • Streaming XLSX generation with bounded database batches
  • Template-driven energy and regulatory Excel reporting
  • Regression coverage for workbook content, batching and failure cleanup

Verified outcomes

The platform combines fast decision views with dependable detailed output. One verified export workload contained 10,937 projects, 43,748 tabs and 612,472 property rows. Its five-sheet XLSX was produced from a production copy in about 15 seconds while preserving structure and formatting. Separate energy-reporting work also delivered template-driven individual and combined Excel reports grounded in supplied production examples.

The value is in the connected architecture: the dashboard, dataset, pipeline and operational report all use the same governed business logic.

Ingest

APIs, databases, spreadsheets and operational source systems.

Transform

Cleaning, validation, mapping and repeatable business rules.

Model

Semantic datasets, relationships, measures and DAX logic.

Orchestrate

Microsoft Fabric pipelines, dataflows and scheduled processing.
